Located near the town centre of Beverley, Educare was established over 25 years ago by David Whincup who had a vision to provide excellence in childcare at affordable prices. We are based on traditional family values with the purpose of providing a safe, secure, and fun environment for children.
Today, we are a family-owned nursery providing childcare for babies through to preschool years and continuing the partnership by offering out-of-school and holiday club facilities.
We aim to create a positive environment, striving for excellence where all children, families and staff grow together.
“A positive environment, striving for excellence, where all children, families and staff grow together and everyone is valued and respected.”
We understand that finding a nursery that is right for you and your child is one of the biggest decisions you may have to make as a parent/guardian. That’s why we pride ourselves as a family-run, independent nursery to provide high-quality care while maintaining an outstanding personal approach and providing a warm and welcoming environment for each and every family. We think of ourselves as a home-from-home and provide fresh home-cooked meals daily. Our nursery team are friendly, caring, and motivated and is here to help prepare your child for school through fun and exciting activities.
Yes, we use the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to observe and track your child's progress, uploading pictures and assessments to the Tapestry system. You can access the app on mobile, laptop or tablet and receive notifications wherever there's an update. Building a close bond with each child is crucial for their growth, so our team spends lots of time engaging directly with them, guiding their play, and seizing every chance to teach and support their development.
We accept various funding options, including 2-year, 3-year, and 30-Hours funding. To access funding for childcare, there are eligibility criteria that apply, and you can check and apply for this funding through the government's childcare service website at this link: https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/
For children aged 2 and 3 years old, you may be eligible for 15 or 30 hours of free childcare per week. If your child is eligible, you’ll receive a letter before their second or third birthday. Please inform us if you have received this letter.
From September 2024, 15 hours of free childcare per week will be available for 9-month-olds.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office on 01482 873344
We find it important here at Educare. is all about teamwork between parents and professionals involved in a child's learning and development. It's like a friendly collaboration where everyone works together for the benefit of the child. It includes talking openly, sharing information, involving parents in activities, and giving them support to help their child learn both at nursery and at home. It ensures the child gets the best support and care in a comfortable environment, no matter where they are.
We have a range of nursery policies and procedures in place, such as Safeguarding, Equal Opportunities, SEND and many others. You can find these available to read through at our nursery entrance.
To book a visit, please get in touch with us by calling us on 0182 873344, email on info@educarenursery.co.uk or here, on our website. We would recommend that you avoid the period from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm as the children are usually having lunch and/or an afternoon nap, so you may miss the chance to see the types of activities that we offer.
We also have open days during the year, so keep a lookout on our website and social media pages for announcement dates when our next one is and come along.
You will be asked to show your ID and sign the visitors’ book on arrival. One of the team will show you around all the nursery rooms and garden, show what we offer, and chat with our nursery team and enable you to get a feel for the nursery. Feel free to ask as many questions as you'd like during your visit; our team are always happy to help and provide you with the information or support you need!
You will be given a welcome information pack to take home with you.
You are more than welcome to bring your little one(s) with you; we would love to meet them.
You will not be permitted to use your mobile phone or any other recording/camera device whilst you are in the nursery.
We offer Full day sessions or half days. Contact our office to discuss what sessions are right for you.
Extra sessions can be booked with the nursery manager. We will always try and accommodate extra session requests, but this will of course depend on how many children are already booked in for the required day. Payment for extra sessions is required in advance.
We encourage parents to visit our nursery to meet our team, explore our learning opportunities and get a feel for our nurturing environment. During the visit, you will be given a welcome pack for you to take away and consider. When it feels right for you and your child, then talk to a member of our team to complete our application forms and discuss things further about the registration fee and availability.
Our Educare team are friendly, caring and fun! All our staff including support and office are DBS checked when they start at our nursery, and the majority of our staff are qualified level two and three early years practitioners. All staff receive training in paediatric first aid, food safety and hygiene, fire safety and safeguarding children. They receive additional training based on their specific roles and responsibilities. We ensure this training is continually updated and refreshed. As a nursery, we are committed to the continuous development of our staff, and we ensure they complete a variety of courses relevant to their roles and responsibilities.
Yes, we are proud of our 5-star food hygiene rating. All meals are prepared daily on-site by Tracey our nursery cook. Food and nutrition are very much core to Educare’s values.
One of our principles of healthy eating is variety - the wider the variety of food and drinks eaten, the better the balance of nutrients provided. We believe meals should be tasty, varied and nutritionally well-balanced. We work closely with parents to make sure every child's individual needs are catered for, such as food preferences and allergy questionnaires to be completed before starting nursery.
Our trusted and friendly team are always available to answer any questions you may have – so don’t hesitate to pick up the phone or drop us an email if there’s something you’d like to ask!
We're proud to show off what we do and the activities that our young people get up to.
